Nana Does Vegas - Meadowbrook Theatre - Lighting Design by Eric Van Tassell

This show had 14 independently controlled RGBW LED tape runs inside plexi boxes embedded into the set. Directly below the top row of LED’s are marque lights wired in sequences of three. This was a fun show to install, and even more exciting to program.

LED boxes were taped prior to installation. Tails were prepared while the pieces were on the ground.

After the set was loaded in connections were made and the tails were run back to the decoder.

32 channel decoder shown with AC-DC adapter and tails from the LED boxes on stage right.

Draft of how the LEDS will be wired and controlled.

A Christmas Carol 2021 - Meadowbrook Theatre - Lighting Design by Reid Johnson

A Christmas Carol has been a Meadowbrook staple for nearly 40 years. The (monstrous) plot has grown and changed along with the show in that time. There are plenty of practicals, atmospherics, and pyrotechnics in the production as well. There is also a whole backstage position dedicated to patching out different circuits between scenes, a job traditionally handled by the Assistant Master Electrician.

“Walt Disney Christmas Spectacular 2018” Filming

My main responsibility during this filming was to place and program the smart lights, as well as rescue them during Florida’s frequent rain storms. I also assist the talent, cleaned up the fake snow between takes, and protect a solid gold harp during set changes.
